עד כמה שזה מוזר, ילד ממש סתום בתיכון שלי היה בסיור ב-CERN (אני עדיין לא יודע למה), אבל הוא היה, והוא מצא את עצמו אוכל צהריים בקפיטריה עם שלשה זוכי פרס נובל שלא היו ג’ימי קארטר, יאסר ערפאת ואל גור.

Oddly enough, a real thick kid at my secondary school had a tour of CERN (I still don’t know why) but he did and he wound up having lunch in the canteen with three Nobel Prize winners who were not Jimmy Carter, Yasser Arafat and Al Gore.

He may have just gotten lucky – happens even to thick people. Whether he was able to appreciate the experience is a separate question (or maybe not:-))

Reminds me of Mark Twain. He visited his old home town after 30 years. He meets an old timer and asks about various of his childhood friends. Finally he asks about the dumbest nerd. The old timer replies: ‘Gues what!, He went to Saint Luis, there nobody knew him and nobody was aware how dumb he is. He became the biggest lwayer in town”.
